ExGal-Twin
Excellence in Galaxies - Twinning the IAC

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

Strategic Goal:

To strengthen the research capacity, profile and impact of the IAC in the field of galaxies through the development of strategic alliances with excellent European partners.

Specific Objectives:

O1. To improve the research excellence capacity within the IAC galaxies group, in particular in areas where it is currently lacking strength: radio astronomy, numerical modelling, and leadership of world-leading observing surveys;
O2. To enhance strategic networking activities between the IAC galaxies group and the leading European institutions in astrophysics based in Groningen, Durham, and Strasbourg;
O3. To increase the reputation, research profile and attractiveness of the IAC galaxies group and its researchers through collaborative top-level research, enhanced output and impact, and improved proposal success;
O4. To strengthen the research management capacities and administrative skills available within the group, allowing optimal use of current and future resources;
O5. To improve the creativity within the IAC galaxies group through the development of new approaches in Research and Innovation collaboration, and increased inwards and outwards mobility of qualified scientists.
