CIARMA: Canary Islands Network of European Research & Innovation Managers

How the network was created

CIARMA was born within the ExGal-Twin project. The 1st Regional Meeting in European Project Management (April 2025) led to the creation of a  Working Group on European Project Management . At its first meeting (23 September 2025) the Working Group agreed to establish a regional network of research project managers. The network's membership requirements were approved at the second meeting (11 December 2025).

Since September 2026, the CIARMA website has been hosted by the  Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI) . This ensures the network will continue beyond the ExGal-Twin project.

About CIARMA

CIARMA is an informal, collaborative network for professionals who manage European and international projects in the Canary Islands. Members take part in a personal capacity. The network offers a space to share knowledge, experience and good practice. It supports the professional development of project managers and helps strengthen the region's research and innovation ecosystem.

CIARMA is an output of the activities done by the ExGal-Twin project, coordinated by the  Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) . It builds on work started after the  FORWARD  project by the  Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC) , with the support of the  Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI) .

Mission

To promote collaboration, knowledge exchange and the adoption of good practice among professionals in European project management in the Canary Islands, helping to strengthen the regional research and innovation ecosystem.
