Specific Workshop on elemental abundances
2-4 June 2025

Deriving elemental abundances in galaxies reaching beyond the Local Universe

Dear Estallidos fellows,

We are organizing a " Workshop Específico " in Madrid to discuss on this subject:

DATE: during the days 2 (afternoon only),
 3 and 4 of June,
 2025.

VENUE: La Corrala (UAM facility for meetings/workshops in Madrid)
https://www.uam.es/uam/lacorrala

SUBJECT: chemical abundances in galaxies from the Local Universe to high z

SHORT RATIONALE

Recent spectroscopic results and ongoing projects,
 mainly from JWST,
 have provided an
impressive amount of new work on the chemical abundances of galaxies located at
moderate and high redshifts which are derived making use of different instruments and
methodologies. As of today,
it seems a substantial database should be available with
high quality spectra of very distant objects,
together with high quality spectra for more
nearby galaxies. We are sure that the ESTALLIDOS 8 team can/will contribute to the
analysis and interpretation of all this wealth of information,
as well as to improve and
refine the methodologies used.

This "Workshop Específico" is aimed at performing a close and productive exploration of
the recent work on this subject as well as to provide the necessary coordination into and
networking from the ESTALLIDOS Team to carry out new high quality work at this
exciting moment of the research in chemical abundances and evolution of galaxies.
