ESTALLIDOS
Multifaced study of star-formation in the Universe (Estallidos 8)

Workshop IV: Madrid Jaunary 26-27, 2006

A multiwavelengh approach to Star Formation y galaxies

This is the 4th Workshop in the framework of the project: STAR FORMATION BURSTS IN GALAXIES (ESTALLIDOS) funded by the National Plan for Astronomy and Astrophysics (PNAYA).

The Workshop will take place on 26-27 January 2006 and will be hosted by CIEMAT .

The main objectives of the workshop are the detailed study of star formation processes in starbursts, as well as their stellar populations and chemical evolution, requiring the analysis of data across the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Multi-frequency studies allow us to characterise the complete star formation cycle from the cool molecular clouds from which stars form to the hot X-ray emitting gas expelled by evolved stars. The purpose of this workshop is to explore the role of these observations at different wavelengths: X-ray, UV, optical, IR, submillimetre and radio in the study of star formation processes in galaxies and, at the same time, to study the design of appropriate observations for this study to be carried out using the instrumentation available today and in the near future.
