Multifaced study of star-formation in the Universe (Estallidos 8)

RATIONALE

The "Estallidos de Formación Estelar" node in Granada, based at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (CSIC) organizes, on behalf of the whole team, the 8th Workshop of this project funded by the Plan Nacional de Astronomía y Astrofísica.

This workshop will be devoted to the challenges that our project has to face in the next years in order to accomplish their objectives. The star formation and the chemical enrichment using the metallicity as a tracer of the star formation history in galaxies, the impact of massive starbursts on galaxy evolution using results with statistical significance and the detailed study of extreme starbursts will be discussed in terms of the use of great telescopes as GTC or VLT, the benefits of new observational techniques that allow to change from an integrated to a resolved point of view or the exploitation of great data archives and new computation and simulation routines.

Sessions will take place at the Hotel Salobreña, in Salobreña (Granada, Spain).
