Conference China-Spain Astronomical Collaboration on High-Resolution Spectroscopy, 24-28 November 2025

This conference organized by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC), in collaboration with the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC) and the National Astronomical Observatories of China (NAOC) has the goal of consolidating the collaboration between China and Spain in Astronomy. The National Observatories of Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC-NIAOT) are currently developing the Canary Hybrid Optical high-Resolution Ultra-stable Spectrograph (CHORUS) (CHORUS at NAOC-CAS) that will be installed in the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC) at the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos in La Palma. The conference joined the Chinese and Spanish scientific communities in a face-to-face meeting on November 24-28, 2025 at IACTec at La Laguna, Tenerife (Canary Islands).
The aim of the conference is to strengthen and consolidate scientific cooperation between China and Spain in the field of high-resolution spectroscopy, one of the key areas for studying stars, galaxies and exoplanets.
SUBSTELLAR project representative, Jun-Yan Zhang (Jerry) attended the Conference and presented two contributions:
1. High-Resolution Spectroscopy of Ultracool Dwarfs as Planet Host Candidates
2. Integral Field Spectroscopy with no IFUs: Slitless Spectroscopy with a Rotating Dispersion Element (with Francesco Sinigaglia)
