CMF2IMF - THE ORIGIN OF THE STELLAR INITIAL MASS FUNCTION, 8-12 JUNE 2026, GARCHING NEAR MUNICH, GERMANY

The CMF2IMF Conference focused on Stellar Initial Mass Function (IMF), a fundamental observable and a crucial component in the understanding of a range of astrophysical processes, including galaxy evolution and planet formation. However, the origin of the IMF is still highly debated: Which processes create the observed stellar mass spectrum? Which factors determine its shape and cause any deviation from a seemingly universal IMF? Cloud fragmentation and formation of dense cores is at the root of the process, being ruled by turbulence, temperature/pressure, magnetic fields, microphysics, feedback, etc.
Styliani Tsilia, predoctoral researcher, attended the CMF2IMF Conference representing SUBSTELLAR project. She presented a contribution titled "Probing Substellar Formation in a Feedback-Dominated Environment with Euclid" .
