SUBSTELLAR Seminar

Substellar Science with the Euclid Space Telescope

By Dr Marusa Zerjal (SUBSTELLAR project), 09/03/2026

Dr Zerjal gave a seminar at the Institut de Ciències del Cosmos, Universitat de Barcelona (ICCUB), sharing the latest work of our SUBSTELLAR team. She introduced the Euclid space mission and showed how it will help us study ultracool dwarfs and answer key questions about these faint objects. She highlighted the young substellar objects discovered in the Sigma Orionis cluster from Euclid's Early Release Observations, and presented the first catalogue of ultracool dwarfs from the Q1 data release. She also provided number predictions for the forthcoming Euclid's Data Release 1 that will become public later this year, opening new horizons for substellar research.
